Introduction, “Matsuda Koi Farm”

“Matsuda Koi Farm” has two breeding ponds, one is in Mushikame-area, Yamakoshi, famous for heavy snowfall in winter but cool in summer, and the other in Yokomakura-area, Nagaoka-city. Here we breed many Nishikigoi under a strict quality control.

A big earthquake hit the Nagaoka area in 2004, causing devastating damages to many breeding ponds in Yamakoshi.

How happy to announce that we are restoring a bright future here again, with our passion and devotion for Nishikigoi.

　

Access to YOKOMAKURA Koi FARM

Just drive on Nagaoka-Higashi Bypass of National Highway No.17 to the Yokomakura-intersection .
Turn right at Yokomakura-intersection in direction of Ojiya from Nagaoka, and there you can see our farms. Please proceed for another 300m and turn right to get in.

Approaches to KHV

In our “Matsuda Koi Farm”, an independent filtration device is installed on every farm to prevent infection control of KHV, to minimize damage, just in case infection occurred.

On 10th,July,2009, it was judged as “KHV Negative” in the PCR inspection carried out by Japan Fisheries Resource Conservation Association.

BREEDING INSTITUTION

“Mushikame Koi Farm”

Mainly, grown-ups are raised here. Even during the winter-period deep in snow, our Koi are raised under certain favorable conditions of temperature. They are still young and not super-jumbo, but we look forward to seeing them grow-up.

“Yokomakura Koi Farm”

At Yokomakura-area, Nagaoka, about ten kilometers away from "Matsuda Koi Farm", we build small office and two houses where new Nishikigoi are under our control of breeeding. Now, they are still infant, but they will be huge in the future. How fun it is to see them growing！They are masterworks.

MESSAGE FROM BREEDING STUFF

In YAMAKOSHI where snow is deep, I seem to wait impatiently now whether colored carps meeting all of you are now in spring from now on.

We Matsuda carp raising ground staff manages the colored carp by young power and a traditional method every day.

I have many kinds in order to meet the demand of many lovers and wait.
